Logansport Memorial Hospital installs a drug disposal container in partnership with the Consumer Drug Take-Back Program

In partnership with the Consumer Drug Take-Back Program, Logansport Memorial Hospital has installed a drop box for proper disposal of unwanted prescription medications. The drop box is located inside Community Pharmacy and offers an easy, safe, and convenient option for disposing of unused, unwanted or expired medications. Community Pharmacy is located in the hospital lobby, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

The new drug disposal box is located along the back wall of Community Pharmacy, and is easy to use. First, pull to open the drawer and place your unwanted medication inside. Close the drawer once all medication is placed inside and you are finished. Please note when disposing of medications, do not remove the label from the medication’s package. Anyone is encouraged to bring unwanted or expired prescription medications to Community Pharmacy. Please see the provided list of accepted and unaccepted items for our new drug disposal box.

Accepted Items:
• Unused or expired prescription medications, including Schedule II -V controlled substances, such as
Hydromorphone, Oxycodone, Fentanyl, Codeine, Amphetamine (Adderall), Vicodin, Suboxone, Xanax, Klonopin, and Valium
• Unused or expired over-the-counter medication
• Pet Medication

Unaccepted Items:
• Thermometers
• Inhalers
• Lotions/Liquids/Creams
• Aerosol Cans
• Needles/Syringes
• Hydrogen Peroxide
