Cass County Drug Task Force arrests two during traffic stop

On June 5, 2019, the Cass County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop for infraction violations near the intersection of 6th and High Street in Logansport. During the course of the traffic stop, officers could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle and occupants produced approximately 83 grams of probable methamphetamine, 5 grams of probable heroin, probable marijuana, and a semi-automatic handgun. There was also $965 seized during the traffic stop.

The following subjects were arrested and lodged in the Cass County Jail:

Terrence Miller, age 35, Logansport, IN.
Dealing methamphetamine, Level 2 Felony
Possession of methamphetamine, Level 3 Felony
Dealing heroin, Level 3 Felony
Possession of heroin, Level 4 felony
Serious Violent Felon in possession of a firearm, Level 4 Felony
Resisting Law Enforcement, A Misdemeanor

Lanell Chamber Jr., age 28, Logansport, IN.
Possession of Marijuana, A misdemeanor

A female juvenile was released from the scene to her parents.

The Cass County Drug Task Force was assisted by the Logansport Police Department Patrol Division and the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section. Based on this investigation, additional arrests are anticipated. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods to the Logansport Police Department or the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
