Options Counselor

Counsels and aids individuals and families requiring information and assistance.  Provides direct Options Counseling by assessing and analyzing client requests and/or needs; explores problem resolution alternatives. Completes insurance application assistance and understanding; facilitate referrals to community and agency programs; and intervention as appropriate.  Qualifications:  A Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional who meets the requirements at 42 CFR 483.430, or; a registered nurse with one year’s experience in human services, or; a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, gerontology, nursing, health and human services, or; a bachelor’s degree in any field with a minimum of two years of full-time, direct-service experience with the elderly or disabled (this experience includes assessment, care plan development, and monitoring), or; a master’s degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.  Salary based on education & experience.
