LOGANSPORT, Ind. — The AT&T Foundation is donating $15,000 to the Cass County Community Foundation (CCCF), an organization focused on promoting education, enhancing humanity and advancing community development throughout the county.This grant will enable the foundation to continue to support student robotics teams from four area schools.
According to CCCF, the robotics programs at Caston, Lewis Cass, Logansport and Pioneer high schools have grown to the point that they have more students wanting to compete than they have resources. The AT&T Foundation’s funding will help address that challenge, as it will be used to purchase additional competition equipment for the schools’ teams.
“Robotics programs offer real solutions for truancy and delinquency and give students a sense pride and accomplishment,” said State Sen. Randy Head. “They even help keep kids on track to graduate and introduce them to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) careers that they may not have explored before. It’s great to see AT&T supporting these efforts.”
“The life skills, problem-solving and teamwork learned in robotics are an undeniable testimony to the value of these programs,” said Cass County Community Foundation President & CEO Deanna Crispen. “As local interest in robotics continues to grow, this AT&T Foundation grant could not come at a better time.”
