A long-time family physician in Logansport is recognized this week with a special city honor.
Dr. Dallis Bowditch, who is retiring, is this week’s Logansport Citizen of the Week.
“The role of a family physician in a small Midwest city is enormous,” Mayor Dave Kitchell said today. “Dr. Bowditch has practiced in our community for the better part of four decades, and his family has been actively involved in our community. He is a great example of a physician who comes to a community and makes a positive impact.”
Dr. Bowditch graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1980.
He began his career with Logansport Family Health Care and his affiliation with Logansport Memorial Hospital in 1983. On November 1, 2007, he joined the Logansport Memorial Hospital Physician Network.
In 1989, he was selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America for his outstanding professional achievement, superior leadership and exceptional service to the community. Over the span of his thirty-six year career, he has volunteered countless hours as a youth soccer coach for Logansport High School and the travel soccer league. He also provided free sports physicals for Cass County youth at the annual sports physicals made possible by Logansport High School.
Dr. Bowditch will receive a certificate from the Mayor’s Office and a $20 gift certificate to a local restaurant.
The Citizen of the Week program is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office and recognizes Logansport residents, natives and former residents for their contributions.
