At mid-year, the city Building Commissioner’s Report in Logansport indicated a 100 percent increase in construction in comparison with 2018.

On Wednesday, through the first three quarters, the latest report from Building Commissioner Wayne Erwin indicates a significant increase in construction in the city. The city finished September with $22,282,342 in construction work so far this year, up from $8,396,574 for the first nine months of 2018 – more than a 250 percent increase.

The city has had only 12 more permits than it had last year, but collected more than $20,000 additional dollars in fee costs. Improvement of square footage also has increased from 55,505 to 82,504.

Among the major projects in the works is the LSI project at Cass/Logan Industrial Park and the Myers Spring expansion on Water Street.
