Cass County Sheriff’s Department welcomes three new deputies

Cass County Clerk, Beth Liming, has given the oath of office to three new deputies of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. Family, friends and members of the Agency surrounded the newest deputies, Adam Martin, Jonathon Ousley and Robert Humphrey, during their ceremony.
Adam Martin graduated from Kokomo High School and attended Indiana University Kokomo. Martin was a police officer with the Kokomo Police Department for 11.5 years. He graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 2008.
Jonathan Ousley was a Corrections Officer in the Cass County Jail before his appointment as a deputy. He is a 2003 graduate of Peru High School and an 8-year veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He has obtained an Associate’s Degree from Ivy Tech Community College and is attending Indiana University Kokomo to complete his bachelor’s degree.
Robert Humphrey is a 2015 graduate of Lewis Cass High School. He is attending Ivy Tech Community College and will graduate with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2020. He has two years of corrections experience with the Indiana Department of Corrections.
The new deputies are receiving local training and orientation. Humphrey and Ousley will attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in January. Sheriff Ed Schroder stated “These new employees are a great addition to the men and women who serve the citizens of Cass County. These employees will put the Department at full strength and allow two officers to be assigned as school resource officers with the Pioneer and Lewis Cass School Corporations.”
