On Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, Logansport High School Principal Matt Jones posted information regarding rumors of a threat against Logansport High School (in Logansport, IN) on the school’s website. The message can be found here and reads:

Dear Students and Parents,

As you may or may not be aware and as spreading among our student body, there are rumors of a threat against Logansport High School. We are aware. A message was found on a restroom stall referencing a school shooting on the afternoon of December 18, 2019, as well as a follow-up message in another restroom stall about the December 18th date. In collaboration with our school safety team, School Resource Officer, and the Logansport Police Department, we do not feel the threat is credible. With that being said, all threats of this nature are taken very seriously, and are thoroughly investigated.

We do ask if anyone has any information to contact school administrators, our School Resource Officer, or the Logansport Police Department- If you hear or see something, to say something.

As always, our first priority is the safety of our students and staff, and we will continue to closely monitor this situation and take whatever action is necessary to keep your child safe. We do plan to have an extra police presence on campus that day.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at school at 753-0441.

Thank you,

Matt Jones
