Donato to seek full term in Indiana State Senate

LOGANSPORT – Today,Republican State Sen. Stacey Donato (R-Logansport) announced she will seek her first full term representing District 18 in the Indiana General Assembly. Donato was elected upon the retirement of State Sen. Randy Head earlier this year and will fulfill the remainder of his term in 2020.  Head stated “I’m excited to endorse Stacey Donato in 2020.  She has broad support across the district, great work experience, and the backbone to get the job done.  She has my full support.”

District 18 includes all of Cass, Fulton and Miami counties, as well as portions of Carroll, Kosciusko and Marshall counties.

“Since I was sworn in, in September I have met with community members from across Senate District 18 and have heard many of the challenges you face daily,” Donato said. “I am determined to improve our district for the better and humbly asking for your support as I seek a complete four-year term.”

In her announcement, Donato named Jake Adams as chairman of her campaign, with former State Senator Randy Head and former State Rep. Bill Friend (R-Macy) serving as Honorary Chairmen.

Donato serves as a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce and Technology; Education and Career Development; Elections; Family and Child Services; and Utilities.

In dealership accounting by profession, Donato is involved in many activities and organizations throughout her community, the Indiana Farm Bureau; Vintage Sports Car Drivers Association; Vintage Motor Sports Council; the Grissom Air Force Reserve Base Community Council; William Paca Lodge #2366; Logansport/Cass County Rotary Club; Cass County Republican Women; Child Protective Services Advisory Committee; Emergency Management Association Advisory Board; Logansport/Cass County Airport Authority Advisory Board;  Lewis Cass Band Boosters; Cass County 4-H Executive Committee; Tailwaggers Dog Club; Forest River Owners Group; and BAM Council Member. She is a former Cass County City Councilwoman.

A member of All Saints Catholic Church, Donato serves as a Eucharistic Minister, and in the church choir.   She and her husband Jim reside in Logansport and have two children and two grandchildren.
