Logansport, Ind.- Associate Professor of Psychology, Jeffery Batis, Ph.D. visited with the students at Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility (LJCF) to discuss how the human brain works and the affects that drugs have on the brain.  Dr. Batis is currently the Associate Professor of Psychology at Southern Virginia University.  He has a Ph.D. in Behavioral and Cognitive Neurosciences and Minors in Pharmacology and Statistics.

Dr. Batis brought several human brains as a part of his presentation.   The students had the opportunity to ask questions then hold or touch the brains following the interactive presentation.

Dr. Batis stated, “My goal is to help the boys learn about brains, about themselves, and hopefully the presentations help them develop an interest in studying the brain or addiction.”
