Local construction totals well ahead of ‘18 in Logansport

Last Updated on December 6, 2019 by City of Logansport – Mayor's Office

In his final report of the year to the Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety Wednesday, Building Commissioner Wayne Erwin again had some astounding totals to present.

Through Nov. 30, construction in the city is up more than 100 percent over the first 11 months in 2018. The total construction permitted was $24,508,428, up from $11,656,860 last year. The city also is collecting more fees — $72,657, up from $49,782.

The board also gave the owner of a property at 111 W. Ottawa St. one week to come up with an action plan for improving the condemned property at the location. Gregory Stark was previously given 60 days to come up with a plan, but told the board work commitments have prevented him from spending the time on the property he had intended to spend.
