Trinity Lutheran Church will apply with the City of Logansport for a $50,000 matching grant to preserve its structure.

Monday evening, the Logansport City Council voted 6-0 to approve a resolution to add the city as co-applicant for a request from the Indiana Historic Preservation Fund.

The grant application does not obligate the city to provide any funding for work on the church on East Market Street, nor does it expose the city to any liability. Funds for the project will be reimbursed to the church directly by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources once work is completed, according to Plan Director Arin Shaver.

The church is located in The Point National Historic District, one of three in the city.
