Two condemned structures cleared for demolition

A home owned by the City of Logansport and an abandoned home that has been condemned for some time are expected to be torn down soon.
Today, the Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety declared the condition of properties at 411 Cliff Drive and 1711 North St. worthy of emergency demolition status. Building Commissioner Wayne Erwin will be able to use budgeted funds to demolish both former homes.
That board had worked with Indiana Landmarks and former Building Commissioner Deb Beattie to determine if any interested parties could restore the Cliff Drive home. It was listed for sale on the Indiana Landmarks Web site. The city purchased the property in a county tax sale.
