Year-end figures released at the January 2020 Cass County Community Foundation board meeting reported the Foundation’s total assets to be over $26.8 million. Over 91% of the foundation’s assets are permanent endowments which will benefit the community forever. Established in 1993, the foundation has provided grants to support Cass County non-profit organizations and scholarships to over 1,200 Cass County students since incorporating as a single county entity in 2001.
The Cass County Community Foundation also announced officers for 2020. Elected officers for 2020 are: Board Chairman, Mike Montgomery; Vice Chairman, Lisa Swaim; Treasurer, Molly Long; and Secretary, Carol Sue Hayworth.
The officers will be joined by new board members, Mike Englert and Paul Kroeger. Returning board members include Elizabeth Billman, Lucy Burns, Suzanne Chilcott, Dan Layman, Barrie McClain, Bud Reed, Tim Rich, Sue Ridlen, Mike Shannon, and Kory Wilson.
