Update from Logansport Police Department on incident on January 4, 2020

On January 4, 2020, Officer Tanner Prentice with the Logansport Police Department attempted to stop a white 2013 Chrysler 200 in the area of 18th St./Spear Street. The vehicle failed to yield and led Logansport officers on a vehicle pursuit throughout Logansport. At one point during the pursuit, a male passenger that was identified as Jesse R. Elliott, 29, of Logansport, bailed from the vehicle. Elliott was later apprehended by other Logansport officers who were in the area.
The pursuit continued outside of Logansport and south on US Highway 35 at a high rate of speed into Walton. The vehicle then traveled west on SR 218 in Carroll County where the vehicle eventually lost control and wrecked into a field. Officers then took custody of the driver, who was identified as Jaime Travis, 33, of Kokomo. A female passenger identified as Kayla Booth, 34, of Wabash, was also taken into custody. Drugs, paraphernalia and a firearm were located inside of the vehicle. All three subjects were transported to the Cass County Jail and booked in on the following charges:
Jaime Travis: Possession of methamphetamine, a level 5 felony; resisting law enforcement with a motor vehicle, a level 6 felony; unlawful possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony; driving while suspended-prior, a class A misdemeanor, and a Howard County warrant.
Kayla Booth – Possession of methamphetamine, a level 5 felony; unlawful possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony, and a LaPorte County warrant.
Jesse Elliott – Possession of methamphetamine, a level 5 felony; unlawful possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony; resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor, and a Cass County warrant.
Additional charges are pending.
The Logansport Police Department was assisted in the pursuit by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, Galveston Police Department, Flora Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
