Logansport Parks slated for Spring launch of new interactive software

Last Updated on March 3, 2020 by Logansport Parks Department

Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has entered into an agreement with CivicRec Recreation Management Solutions to provide the community easier access to park activities and facility rental reservations. Work is being completed for an anticipated Spring 2020 launch, with the specific date to be announced in April.

This new software will allow citizens greater visibility into offered department activities including classes and sports, and more convenient online registration and payment. It will also allow users to search for and reserve community facilities, such as pavilions, shelters, and indoor locations – all conveniently online. In addition, users will be able to utilize debit or credit cards to pay for park services through the new software.

The CivicRec solution is designed to be intuitive to navigate and easy to use. It is mobile-friendly, allowing users to search for community activities and events, register, and remit payment even from a smartphone or tablet.

Parks Administrator Janet Fawley wants the community to know about all the advantages that the software will provide: “Additional benefits include the option to evaluate a program or facility through an automatic survey, customers will receive more defined communications from the parks to individual customers, but most importantly, people will now have the ability to take care of business from a computer at home, or at work. We also want the community to know that the face-to-face interactions at the Parks Office will continue to be available, but we wanted to provide another option for busy people.”

As the department launches the new software, staff members will make themselves available at local restaurants and gathering places to set up accounts for interested citizens. A schedule will be announced as the launch date is confirmed.
