NASA has reached a milestone in space exploration with the launch of the SpaceX Crew Dragon Demo 2 spacecraft on a Falcon 9 Rocket from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

This next-generation human spacecraft will transport NASA U.S. astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley to the International Space Station today, May 27th at 4:33 p.m. EST.

It will air live on NASA TV, and it will be the first time a commercially built spacecraft and an American operated rocket will carry American astronauts from American soil to the International Space Station since 2011.

The Crew Dragon is scheduled to dock nineteen hours later to the International Space Station at 11:29 a.m. on Thursday, May 28th.
