LMH apologizes for continued delays in scheduling

Just a few weeks ago, Logansport Memorial Hospital completed a planned transition to a new electronic health records system. This was a significant project and upgrade for the hospital that has been two years in the making. LMH did postpone the launch of this new system due to COVID-19, but did as much as possible to prepare our staff and our patients for the launch that would impact and change many processes across the hospital.

Unfortunately, one way that the new electronic health records system has affected our staff and patients is by causing significant, long delays for answering and/or returning phone calls. LMH has seen increased volumes of patients who are trying to reschedule or follow-up with their care after delaying it due to COVID-19. At the same time, the transition to our new system required us to schedule fewer appointments than we typically would, so that our staff would have time to re-enter each patient’s most current information into our new system.

Our staff is doing their very best to adjust to entirely new processes, capture the most accurate data in your record to give your provider(s) what they need to care for you, and continue to address your ongoing health questions and concerns. Although we understand that these delays are very frustrating, we ask for your continued patience with our staff. We are working through our processes to gain efficiencies and make adjustments so that we can give you the outstanding care and service that you expect and deserve from us.

We want to remind our valued patients that these delays are only temporary, and we will refine our process to resume normal wait times and normal responses to phone calls. If you would like to bring your experience to our attention, letting us know how we can continue to improve our processes, please send an email to emailus@logansportmemorial.org or send a message to the LMH Facebook page. We appreciate every opportunity to serve you and are more grateful than ever for your trust in us and your patience with us as we make continuous improvements in caring for you.
