Here are a few things we thought you might want to know for Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020:

Wednesday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day and the Cass County Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the memorial at 4th and Broadway in Downtown Logansport. The grand marshal for this year’s event is retired Veterans Council Chaplain James Miller.

All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches are closed Wednesday, Nov. 11 in observance of the holiday, and there is no mail delivery.

The American Red Cross is urging healthy donors of all blood types to band together to give blood and help ensure a stable blood supply for patients this holiday season.

The traditional slump in blood donations between Thanksgiving and New Year’s comes as the blood supply already faces challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic.

You can make an appointment to donate blood, platelets or plasma with the Red Cross by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.

The Logansport Parks & Recreation Board has been working with the Cass County Humane Society since September to design plans for the proposed dog park to be constructed at Huston Park. The public is invited to attend the parks board’s regular meeting on Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers to hear more about the proposed plans. More information is available here.

Family Video is closing its location in Logansport, IN. The store has begun their liquidation and will officially close before the end of the year. Family Video has served the Logansport community since 1998.  The 318 12th St location is available for lease or purchase. More info here.
