Here are a few things we thought you might want to know for Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020:

Logansport Memorial Hospital is re-implementing a zero visitors policy, effective Tuesday, November 17, 2020 until further notice. This is in response to the rising number of COVID-19 cases throughout Cass and surrounding counties, as well as across the state of Indiana. Read more here.


Pioneer Regional School Corporation announced Monday that it will be moving to Remote Learning for all PreK -12th grade students starting on Tuesday, Nov. 17 through Thanksgiving. More info here.


The Indiana Department of Environmental Management issued the notice of 30-day period for public comment and the notice of public hearing on the new source construction and operating permit for Waelz Sustainable Products LLC in Cass County.

The notice states that the public is invited to attend a virtual public hearing regarding the Waelz Sustainable Products, LLC air permitting preliminary findings. IDEM will hold this virtual public hearing via Zoom on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Eastern Time at https://on.in.gov/wsp

Tyson Foods in Logansport has announced a 34,000 pound donation of protein, equivalent to 136,000* meals, to the Emmaus Mission Center. The donation marks more than one million meals donated by the company this year to the non-profit. Read more here.


Logansport Community School Corporation is offering curbside meal pickup on Wednesdays to the following:

  • LCSC Remote Learning Students
  • LCSC Hybrid Learning Students
  • Anyone under the age of 18 in the community

Meal pickup is every Wednesday (except for 11/25 and 12/23) from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at Logansport Junior High School, on the west side of the building. Meals are served on a first come first serve basis. More info here.


The Indiana State Board of Education (Board) is seeking broad public feedback on ideas for a future accountability model for Indiana’s K-12 schools. The draft framework was created based on stakeholder feedback received over the summer.

The Board is hosting three webinars this month. Each webinar will feature a panel with guests who will ask questions and interact with the framework.  The content of each webinar will be geared toward different audiences.

  • November 18 at 5:30pm EST: Parents and Families
  • November 19 at 5:30pm EST: Educators
  • November 24 at 8:00am EST: Administrators

The Logansport Parks & Recreation Board is inviting the public to attend its regular meeting on November 18th at 5:30 in the City Council Chambers at 601 East Broadway. A primary agenda item includes a presentation for the proposed dog park to be constructed at Huston Park. More info here.
