On Saturday, November 14, 2020, at around 9:24 a.m., the Logansport Fire
Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at U-Know Pizza and Sandwich Shop, located at 96 E. Market Street, in Logansport.
Upon arrival, crews found a single-story structure with heavy smoke showing. The business was not occupied at the time of the fire. Additional off duty manpower was called in to assist. Crews were able to force entry into the front door of the structure and knock down most of the fire within 10 minutes. Additional overhaul revealed that the fire had extended the roof decking, resulting in a portion of the flat roofing being removed. Fire and smoke damage was sustained throughout the structure
Fire crews remained on scene for approximately two hours. The Logansport Fire Department responded with 2 Engines, 1 Heavy Rescue, 1 Tower Ladder, 1 Command vehicle and 18 firefighters, as well as assistance from the Logansport Police Department. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Logansport Fire Investigator Rusty Logan.
