Laura Mae Ulery, 69, of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, in Memorial Hospital, following complications from Covid-19.

Born May 1, 1951, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Virginia M. (Clark) Talbert.

Laura grew up in the Clymers area. She was a 1969 graduate of Logansport High School.

On September 12, 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Layne “Bob” Ulery, who survives.

A homemaker, Laura was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of the Logansport First Church of the Nazarene and held tight to her faith in Jesus, as her Lord and Savior.

Laura was a voracious reader. She loved working in her flower garden. Throughout her entire life, she shared a special relationship with her sister, Marlena. They were best friends and enjoyed talking and listening to each other.

Surviving with her husband of 51 years are her children, Laurie Ulery Swafford, Logansport, and Joseph Talbert Ulery (Richard) Graham, Noblesville; one sister, Marlena S. (Lewis) Vaughan, Logansport; one brother, George H. (Deb) Talbert, Milton, Florida; grandchildren, Kayla (James) Lavender, Brandon (Tasha) Conrad, Haylee Conrad (Fallen Hurd), Kelsey Conrad, and Parker Graham; one great-grandchild, Maxwell Aiden Hurd; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Zoe Mae.

he was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Kay Timmons who had resided in Lafayette, Tennessee.

A Memorial Service celebrating Laura’s life will be held at a later date at the Logansport First Church of the Nazarene.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Cass County Community Foundation to benefit the Logansport community or in the spirit of the Season, drop a donation in the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign in memory of Laura.
