LMU water meter replacement project underway

Last Updated on December 28, 2020 by Cass County Online

LMU is in the process of implementing a mass water meter change to get ready for a new billing and meter reading system.

Every meter in Logansport, approximately 7,500 meters, will be replaced with a new meter.

An LMU rep says that after the meter is replaced, users may see their usage increase, due to an old meter that was not reading correctly.

LMU employees will try to contact residents before briefly shutting off the water to replace the meter at each house.

They hope to wrap up the project by the end of 2021, with implementation of the new metering system to begin in late 2021 – early 2022.
