An ‘Old Faithful’ Active Galaxy

Here’s an update from our local Solar System Ambassador Pam Roller:

The Old Faithful geyser at Yellowstone National Park is viewed by over a million people each year to watch a jet of regular blasts of boiling water high in the air.
An international team of astronomers has discovered a cosmic equivalent to Old Faithful, a distant galaxy that erupts roughly every 114 days. Data was collected from NASA’s Swift Observatory and Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite Facilities.
