Logansport Memorial Hospital welcomes first baby of 2021

The First Baby of 2021 arrived on New Year’s Day at 1:41 a.m. in the newly-renovated Family Birth Center at Logansport Memorial Hospital. Baby girl Emmaline Grace Bennett was born on January 1, 2021 to parents Trisha and Tyler, ahead of her scheduled due date.
“I did not expect to be having the New Year’s Baby,” commented Trisha. “Her due date was January 7, but they ended up inducing me because I had low fluid at one of my very last check-ups. So we came in on New Year’s Eve, and when the nurses started mentioning that we might have the New Year’s Baby, I was excited and hoped that the timing would work out.”
Emmaline has a big brother at home, who is anxiously waiting to meet her. He, along with his grandparents and other family members have gotten to see the baby through video chats while they’ve been here in the hospital. Trisha and Tyler are eager to get back home to Kewanna and begin adjusting to life as a family of four, keeping to themselves as much as possible so that everyone stays healthy.
