At the request of the Biden Administration, a Moon rock now sits in the Oval Office of the White House in symbolic recognition of earlier generations’ ambitions and accomplishments, and support for America’s current Moon to Mars exploration missions.

NASA loaned the Moon rock that was displayed on Inauguration Day January 20, 2021.

The sample was collected in 1972 by the last men to set foot on the Moon. It happened during the last mission to the Moon from Apollo 17 with astronauts/ moonwalkers Ron Evans, Harrison Schmitt, and Eugene Cernan.
