New deputy joins Cass County Sheriff’s Department

Cass County Clerk Destry Richey gave the oath of office to a new deputy of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office on January 25, 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the ceremony for Michael A. Thomison had limited attendance.

Deputy Michael Thomison is a graduate of Taylor High School, Indiana University and the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He has eight years of policing experience in Indiana.

“I am exited to begin a new chapter in my career,” Deputy Thomison stated. “This is a tremendous opportunity to serve the citizens as deputy in Cass County.”

Deputy Thomison is receiving local training and orientation before he begins solo patrol in Cass County.

Deputy Thomison is an experienced officer and will be an asset to the citizens of Cass County,” stated Sheriff Ed Schroder. “This hire brings the department to full staff.”
