On Saturday, February 20, 2021 at approximately 5:33 p.m., Logansport Police were dispatched to the area of the 700 block of 13th Street in Logansport in reference to a person being shot.
Upon arrival to the area, Logansport Police located a 30-year-old male from Logansport that had sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to Kokomo for medical treatment. His condition was unknown according to a press release issued by Logansport Police just after 1 a.m. Sunday, February 21.
Logansport Police learned that an altercation had taken place and a male had allegedly shot the 30-year-old male and then departed the area with a female.
During the course of the investigation, the female was identified as Xochiti Luis Antonio, 26, of Logansport. Logansport Police were able to secure a search warrant at her residence in the 500 block of 13th Street. Logansport S.W.A.T. was able to secure the residence. She was located there and arrested for assisting a criminal (level 5 felony). The male was not located at the residence.
Logansport Police say that upon further investigation, the male was identified as Jose Manuel Gonzalez, 29, Logansport. According to a press release issued by the Logansport Police Department just after 1 a.m. on February 21, Gonzalez had not been located at that time. Logansport Police say they were able to secure an arrest warrant for Jose Manuel Gonzalez for attempted murder (level 1 felony).
