On Friday February 5, 2021, at approximately 10:55 a.m. Cass County Central Dispatch received a call reporting that a female victim had been held overnight against her will on County Road 500 East and a male was barricaded on the property.
Deputies responded to the address and met with the reporting female. Other responding deputies were able to obtain further information which led to a search warrant for the property. The Logansport Police Department Tactical Unit (SWAT) was requested to assist the deputies serving the search warrant.
While the Logansport Police Department Tactical Unit was searching an out building on the property, a 45-year-old male emerged and was taken into custody without incident. The male was transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
The case is still under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and will be forwarded to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office after completion. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the office at 574-753-7800.
The Logansport Police Department, Walton Town Marshal, Logansport Fire Department, Galveston Fire Department, Young America Fire Department and Phoenix Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
