Logansport High Schoolis partnering with the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) to celebrate Early College Week from April 26-30, 2021. Early College Week focuses public attention on the unique impact of the Early College High School model. Early College Week highlights the many benefits students and families realize through their participation in an Early College program. Mayor Chris Martin has signed a proclamation designating Logansport High School’s celebration of Early College Week April 26-30, 2021.

The special week honors high schools with an Early College program. It also celebrates the teachers, schools and higher education partners engaged in helping students achieve high school and postsecondary success.

Early College programs provide rigorous instruction for targeted underserved students, help students succeed in completing high school requirements while simultaneously earning college credit, support students in a variety of ways as they take on their challenging schoolwork and provide opportunities for students to experience a college-going culture. Early College students and their families save thousands of dollars each year on college tuition, thus helping reduce student college debt.

CELL has been designated by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education as the sole organization to train, support, and endorse high schools in the Early College Model. At this time, CELL has designated 38 Indiana high schools as endorsed Early College High Schools and has trained over 120 high schools and career centers on how to implement the model.
