LOGANSPORT –Noah Schafer, the Cass County Prosecuting Attorney, announced that Daniel Paul Grady Snyder, 32, of Logansport, pled guilty to Dealing in Methamphetamine, Domestic Battery, and being a Habitual Criminal, as well as other charges, and was sentenced in Cass Circuit Court by Judge Stephen Roger Kitts, II to thirty years in the Indiana Department of Correction on Thursday. Chief Deputy Prosecutor Tom Lupke handled the case.
The charge stemmed from an investigation by the Logansport Police Department. On March 28, 2019Logansport officers responded to the scene of a domestic battery in the500 block of Bartlett Street.
During Snyder’s arrest,it was determined that he possessed multiple digital scales with white powdery residue as well as several hundred dollars in U.S. currency. When Snyder was transported to the jail, he was caught by jail staff attempting to discard a dozen small packages of methamphetamine which had been prepared for distribution. Snyder has prior criminal convictions including two felonies, one for Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury in 2013 and another for Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of a Syringe in 2018.
Prosecutor Noah Schafer commented after the sentencing: “We are grateful for the hard work of the Logansport Police Department and the Cass County Jail officers during the course of this investigation.The diligence of those agencies made it possible for our office to hold the defendant responsible for his drug dealing as well as the act of domestic violence.”
