On Saturday, April 17th, Logan’s Landing held our annual “Downtown Green & Clean Day.” More than 40 dedicated volunteers donated a few hours of their time on a mostly chilly and overcast Saturday morning to pick up litter, sweep, pull weeds, rake, and generally spruce up our community. We collected several bags of trash, 1 bin of recyclables, and multiple bags of yard waste – and swept huge amounts of sand off sidewalks! Now that downtown Logansport has gotten a good spring cleaning, it is our hope that our citizens and visitors will be inspired to help keep it clean and inviting.

Special thanks to the following: event chair Kendall Gundrum and Logan’s Landing board member Diana Brown; the State Theatre Preservation Society for letting us use their amazing venue as Green & Clean Headquarters this year; Black Dog Coffee for donating refreshments; Rich Voorhees for taking photos; Cass County Communication Network and the Pharos-Tribune for helping us get the word out; and to representatives of the following teams: the Armstrong Family, the Baldwin & Turner Families, Cass County Democrats, Landis Elementary 5th Grade, the Mayorga Family, the Morris Family, Security Federal Savings Bank, and many individuals and groups of friends for volunteering their time and efforts to make Logansport a community we can all be proud of.

We also thank the following businesses for donating door prizes: Patten Monument for a gift card from The Nest, Kroeger Funeral Home for a gift card from Black Dog Coffee & Legacy Outfitters, Judy’s GoodLife Emporium for a gift card, and Nikki Reid at The Nest for two environmentally-friendly water bottles. Congratulations to the winners of the door prizes: Gary Armstrong, Mercedes Brugh, Juan Mayorga, Nancy Boxell, and Mindee Turner.

Let’s all help keep Logansport green and clean!
