PLANNED ELECTRIC OUTAGE: Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 on Smith and Rice Streets in Logansport

The Logansport Municipal Utilities’ electric department will be making system improvements on Friday, November 19, 2021 that require planned electric outages for multiple homes.

The affected homes are on Smith and Rice Streets and residents have been notified. The project will begin as early as 9:00 a.m. and should be completed within 2 hours.

Residents are advised to prepare for the planned outage with the following tips:
-Have a plan to maintain use of any medical equipment dependent on electricity
-Charge cell phones
-Unplug computers, televisions, and sensitive electronics.
-Notify your home security company.
-Know how to manually operate garage doors and electric gates.
-Minimize opening refrigerator and freezer doors during the outage.
-Turn off all heat-producing appliances (stoves, toaster ovens, irons, hair curlers, etc)

Logansport Municipal Utilities is committed to making system improvements that will increase electric reliability and decrease emergency power outages. Crews will work quickly, while being safe, to restore power as soon as possible.
