Jeremy Keith Hendricks

Last Updated on August 7, 2022 by Fisher Funeral Chapel

Jeremy Keith Hendricks, 39, of Logansport, found peace on late Sunday night, July 31, 2022, after fighting several chronic illnesses.

Jeremy spent his childhood in the coal fields of southern West Virginia, where he was born on April 21, 1983. As a teenager, he moved to Peru, Indiana, where he graduated from Maconaquah High School. He was an active participant in the marching band, playing the drums. A self-taught musician, he had the ability to pick up a musical instrument and learn it on his own. He was a talented songwriter, singer, and guitar player. His love of computers and gadgets led him to employment in the IT (information technology) field.

While Jeremy was a compassionate individual, he loathed spiders and bees. He was always irritated that he was unable to convince one of his brothers and one of his sisters to switch to an android phone, and this became a constant source of lovable picking at them.

Jeremy’s life was one of overcoming obstacles and being an advocate for others facing those same obstacles. He was very outspoken about his Type 1 Diabetes and quick to help others with the same illness. He strived to be the best at everything he took interest in: music, technology, cooking, and being a father; he succeeded many more times than not. A natural comedian, it was his goal to keep everyone smiling and laughing. He had an unmeasurable heart for his family and friends. He treasured his siblings and even more so his nieces and nephew, taking much pride in being their favorite uncle.

Jeremy’s children provided immense joy and he lived to care for them. They were his hope and light. He took pleasure in passing on his love of music and gaming. His sense of humor can be seen in all his children, as well as his sweet and sometimes shy demeanor. He found happiness in taking the kids to the park or going on walks to say hello to the neighbors.

Jeremy’s sudden passing leaves so many heartbroken. We miss his smile, the sound of his voice, his joking nature, and his hugs. His friendliness and ability to make everyone in his presence feel comfortable is missed the most. He made a difference to so many. Our world is forever changed.

Surviving are his children; son, Samuel Hendricks (Rachael Gehle, mother) of Peru, IN; son, August and daughter, Josie Hendricks; step daughter, Ryleigh Clem (Kristin Sturdivant, mother) of Logansport, IN; father, James Hendricks Jr. and mother, Donna Bedwell; sisters, Heather (Mark) Myers, Rachael (Michael) Torres, and Alicia Bowles; brothers, Joshua (Rachel) Hendricks, Brent Sherrick, Nicholas Sherrick, and Tommy Vance; grandparents, James and Eva Hendricks and Delores Bowles; aunt, Rebecca (David) Cardwell and uncle, Dana (Gerri) Hendricks; nieces, Sara, Baylee, Kaydance, Olivia, and Harley, and nephew Ben; special cousin Brady; cats, Dash and Penny; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Bowles; stepmother, Deborah Hendricks; stepfather, Brent (Eugene) Sherrick; and two amazing cats, Oliver and Bunny.

A visitation from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, August 6 will be held w at Fisher Funeral Chapel followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m.to celebrate Jeremy’s life. The family is honoring Jeremy’s wishes to be cremated.
