Receptions in Logansport and Kokomo to honor new chancellor

KOKOMO, Ind. – Receptions have been scheduled in Logansport and Kokomo this week to officially welcome Ethan Heicher into his new role as chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College’s Kokomo Service Area. The public is invited.

The events are scheduled from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the Community Room of Ivy Tech’s Logansport Campus at 1 Ivy Tech Way, and Thursday, in Hingst Hall on the Kokomo Campus at 1815 E. Morgan St. The Kokomo Service Area covers Cass, Fulton, Howard, Miami, Pulaski and Tipton counties, including the communities of Kokomo, Logansport, Peru, Rochester, Tipton and Winamac.

Heicher, who has served as Ivy Tech Kokomo’s interim chancellor since January, was named to the top role in October. He was previously the campus’s vice chancellor for Academic Affairs. He has been with the College since 2009, where he began as a professor of English and chair of the Humanities program.

Ethan has over 21 years of instructional and administrative experience at community colleges and currently serves as a member of the Kokomo area’s Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) grant planning committee.
