Year-end figures released at the January 2023 Cass County Community Foundation board meeting reported the Foundation’s total assets to be over $31.6 million. Over 94% of the foundation’s assets are permanent endowments which will benefit the community forever. Established in 1993, the foundation has provided grants to support Cass County non-profit organizations and scholarships to over 1,585 Cass County students since incorporating as a single county entity in 2001 totaling over $12.8 million. Last year, the Foundation provided scholarships, grants and distributions totaling $980,000.
The Cass County Community Foundation also announced officers for 2023. Elected officers for 2023 are: Board Chairman, Mike Englert; Vice Chairman, Molly Long; Treasurer, Luke Gangloff; Secretary, Kathlene Maughmer; and Past Chairman, Tim Rich.
The officers will be joined by new board members Greg Comoglio, Lynn Korniak, and Mike Shannon. Returning board members are Suzanne Chilcott, Paul Kroeger, Dan Layman, Barrie McClain, Mike Montgomery, Bud Reed, Sue Ridlen, and Kory Wilson.
