Suanne L. (McNutt) Schwering

Suanne L. Schwering, 84, of Logansport, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Born on October 14, 1938, in Greenville, OH, Suanne is the daughter of the late Dale and Mary Lou (Lacey) McNutt.  On August 14, 1960, in Logansport, Suanne married Fred Schwering who preceded her in death on February 21, 2018.

Suanne was a 1956 graduate of Logansport High School and was known as the first and oldest living Berryette. She also graduated from Hanover College, A member of PHI MU sorority, before returning home and becoming a teacher for the Logansport School Corporation Teaching at Daniel Webster, Washington and Columbia schools. Suanne served on the Logansport Parks and Recreation Board, Performing Arts council, Cass County Arts Alliance.  She was instrumental in the creation of Cass County Arts Council (Cass County Art Alliance), and the creation of Art on the Avenue, Jazz Fest, Artrageous, and Loganopoly.  She Loved the Letterman.  She was involved with countless other organizations that were focused on making her hometown a better place.

Surviving Suanne are two sons, Steve (Natasha Spencer) Schwering of Logansport; Scott (Shawna) Schwering of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Maz Schwering; sister, Sandy Clark of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Gundrum Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
