Logansport Utilities planned electric outage Thursday, May 25, 2023

The Logansport Utilities’ electric department will be replacing a damaged pole starting at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday May 25, 2023, which will require a small scheduled power outage.

The areas affected include:

  • George Street between 17 th and 18 th Streets on the south side of the road.
  • Smead Street on between 17th and 18 th Streets on the north side of the road.
  • 18th Street between George Street and Smead Street on both sides.

The outage is scheduled to last up to four hours.

Residents are advised to prepare for the planned outage with the following tips:

  • Have a plan to maintain use of any medical equipment dependent on electricity
  • Charge cell phones
  • Unplug computers, televisions, and sensitive electronics.
  • Notify your home security company.
  • Know how to manually operate garage doors and electric gates.
  • Minimize opening refrigerator and freezer doors during the outage.
  • Turn off all heat-producing appliances (stoves, toaster ovens, irons, hair curlers, etc)

Logansport Utilities is committed to making system improvements that will increase electric reliability and decrease emergency power outages. Crews will work quickly, while being safe, to restore power as soon as possible.
