On the evening of Friday, February 16, 2024, Craig Daniel Billman entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior while at home in Boquete, Panama. He was 63 years old.

Craig was born in Logansport, Indiana to Lionel Billman and Muriel Mathias Billman on September 6, 1960.

Playing and watching sports, especially football, basketball and tennis were childhood passions that he continued into adulthood.

He also loved spending time with his many cousins on his grandparents’ farm.

In 1979 he graduated from Logansport High School and attended Taylor University the year after high school.

The following spring, he received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated in 1984.  Upon graduation he took further training in the Field Artillery Branch and completed Airborne and Army Ranger School. He served several active-duty assignments including Camp Liberty Bell on the Korean DMZ and the 7th Infantry Division Army Rapid Deployment Force in Ft. Ord California.

After resigning his commission, he enrolled at Harvard Business School and completed his MBA in 1990. He worked as a consultant and later in international finance. He was a true renaissance man in education and interests. He loved different cultures. In addition to living in Russia, the Philippines and Panama, he visited over 90 countries across his professional career.

Amongst his most interesting endeavors, Craig wrote and produced a movie, Bankers Secret.

Having a knack for learning languages, Craig was fluent in Russian and Spanish. His mastery of eight languages enhanced his enjoyment of being a part of the local community and sharing his faith. For the past few years, Craig lived in Panama where he made a positive impact in this neighborhood.

Craig is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Carl and Gladys Billman and maternal grandparents Earl and Goldie Mathias. Also, by his parents Lionel and Muriel Billman. He is survived by his brother Eric (Sandra) Billman, his sister Barbara (Mark) Gilzean, nephews Andrew (Carrie) and Luke and four great nieces.

Donations can be made to Samaritans Purse.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kroeger Funeral Home.
