Logansport Fire Department establishes fire prevention division, fire inspection fines

Last Updated on March 6, 2024 by Logansport Fire Department

The Logansport Fire Department has worked with City Council to pass a new ordinance (2024-02) regarding fire inspection fines in order to ensure the safety of residents and mitigate potential fire hazards.

Under the new ordinance, businesses that fail to comply with the fire code after being advised of a violation will now face fines. The purpose of the fines is to encourage businesses to address any violation promptly in order to protect their property, as well as the lives and safety of their customers or occupants.

Fire Chief Bair emphasizes the importance of regular inspections to prevent fires and ensure that properties meet the required safety standards.

“Fire safety is a top priority of the Logansport Fire Department and we are committed to enforcing these measures to protect our community.”

The Fire Department’s Inspector will be out conducting routine inspections to ensure that properties are up to code and safe for occupants.
