On May 26, 2024 at approximately 6:39 p.m., officers with the Logansport Police Department were dispatched to 3800 E. Market St (D&J Liquor) regarding a shot fired call. Officers learned the fired round struck an unrelated vehicle. The round caused the rear driver’s side window to break, leading to an injury to a juvenile in the rear of the vehicle. The juvenile was treated on scene for minor injuries. Officers were able to speak with witnesses who provided the identity of the suspect. Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were able to locate the suspect vehicle. They conducted a traffic stop where the juvenile suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The juvenile suspect was arrested for the following charges:

Criminal recklessness with a firearm, a level 5 felony
Intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony
Battery on a juvenile with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony
Pointing a firearm, a level 6 felony

Assisting with this investigation was the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Cass County EMS.
