Joint investigation leads to arrest of prowler

During the first weekend in June, Cass County Central Dispatch received numerous calls of a prowler dressed in all black in the Marleton Hills and Walnut Ridge areas.
Sergeant Nick Bowyer and Deputy Shane Johnson collated resident reports and coordinated a joint investigation with the Logansport Police Department. On Sunday, June 2, 2024 at approximately 10 p.m., Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies and Logansport Police officers initiated several surveillance locations in the area of the previously reported encounters. Logansport Police Sergeant Flaude Dillon provided drone coverage of the area where the officers were stationed.
At approximately 11:15 p.m., a person was observed by the drone operator walking through wooded areas of the targeted neighborhood. A short foot pursuit ensued as officers attempted to stop and identify the suspicious person. Ultimately, deputies were able to apprehend 58-year-old Ricky Arion of Logansport, IN. Arion was incarcerated at the Cass County Detention Center for the following charges:
Four counts of Voyeurism (Level 6 Felony)
Four counts of attempted Voyeurism (Level 6 felony)
Resisting law enforcement (A Misdemeanor)
Four counts of Trespassing (A Misdemeanor)
The incident is still under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
