Logansport Utilities scheduled electric outage Monday, July 22, 2024

Starting at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024 the electric department will be replacing a pole and need to turn off the power to safely complete the necessary work. Power should be restored within eight hours.
The outage will affect the businesses and addresses listed below:
• West Side Diner
• Ace Rent-A-Car
• South side of 700, 800, and 900 block of West Miami Avenue
• North side of 700, 800 and 900 block of West Linden Avenue
• South side of 800 and 900 block of West Linden Ave.
• North side of 800 and 900 blocks of Wheatland Avenue
Affected residents are advised to prepare for the outage with the following tips:
– Have a plan to maintain use of any medical equipment dependent on electricity
– Charge cell phones
– Unplug computers, televisions, and sensitive electronics.
– Notify your home security company.
– Know how to manually operate garage doors and electric gates.
– Minimize opening refrigerator and freezer doors during the outage.
– Turn off all heat-producing appliances (stoves, toaster ovens, irons, hair curlers, etc)
Logansport Utilities is committed to making system improvements to increase electric reliability and decrease emergency power outages. Crews will work quickly, while being safe, to restore power as soon as possible.
