Six operating while intoxicated arrests made during Friday night saturation patrol on August 30, 2024

PERU, IN – On August 30, 2024, troopers from the Peru Post conducted a saturation patrol aimed at identifying and apprehending dangerous and impaired drivers. During the patrol, troopers issued 24 citations and 58 warnings. In addition to proactive enforcement efforts, troopers responded to and managed 33 calls for service.
Key statistics from the patrol include:
– 6 Arrests for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)
– 20 Criminal Arrests
-6 Drug-Related Arrests
-7 Felony Charges
-4 Driving While Suspended Prior Arrests
This effort reflects the Indiana State Police’s dedication to enforcing the law and protecting the public from the risks posed by impaired and dangerous drivers. The patrol was part of a broader initiative to improve traffic safety and reduce accidents related to impaired driving.
“We are committed to keeping our roads safe for all Hoosiers,” said TJ Zeiser, Commander of the Peru Post. “The result of this patrol demonstrates our resolve to identify and remove dangerous drivers from the road. We will continue to carry out similar operations to ensure the safety of our community.”

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
