Arrest made from school threats

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at approximately 6:49 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received school threat information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Deputies Ventura, Hamilton and Sergeant Joe Nies began investigating the cyber tip.

A social media post was found that contained a threat of a school shooting at an unnamed school. Sergeant Nies found the threat as aimed at a specific individual at Kokomo High School. Further investigation revealed the suspect was not a student at that school.

The female suspect, Aria Wooden, an 18-year-old of rural Galveston, Indiana, was incarcerated at the Cass County Detention Center for a level 5 felony, Intimidation – Threat to Commit Terrorism.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the office at 574-753-7800. This is considered an isolated incident. No other schools are believed to be the subject of any known threats.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kokomo Police Department and the Lafayette Police Department assisted with this investigation.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
