
Update on May 18, 2025 residential fire at Deer Creek Village Mobile Home Park

Cass County Emergency Services responded to a residential fire incident at Deer Creek Village Mobile Home Park on the morning of May 18, 2025.
At approximately 11:23 a.m., emergency units were dispatched following reports of a dryer fire within a residence. Upon arrival, Engine 51 observed light smoke coming from the front window.
Firefighters executed an aggressive fire attack, successfully extinguishing the blaze. The damaged dryer was subsequently removed from the residence. Walton and Young America Fire Departments provided additional support in mitigating remaining fire hazards and ensuring complete suppression of hot spots.
As a result of the fire, two adults and one child were displaced from the residence. The American Red Cross and Cass County Emergency Management Agency have been notified and are coordinating assistance for the affected family.
Cass County Emergency Services extends its gratitude to all agencies involved in the response, including Cass County E911, Cass County EMS, Cass County EMA, American Red Cross, Walton Community Fire Department, and Young America Volunteer Fire Department.
