Logansport Savings Bank donates $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity

Logansport Savings Bank is donating $10,000 in support of the Cass County chapter of Habitat for Humanity. This funding will go toward the 2025 Logansport Community Build that has recently begun.
Habitat for Humanity of Cass County is a Christian ministry that builds houses in partnership with families in need of affordable home ownership. The 2025 Logansport Community Build was inspired by Cass County Habitat’s goal of increasing its capacity to address affordable homeownership solutions. This house-raising will be one of the first for the Cass County Habitat organization in recent years. Since 1991, Cass County Habitat has built or renovated 11 houses.

We appreciate all that Cass County Habitat has planned for our community and are grateful to be a small part of their important work.”
“This donation is very significant to our organization and our fundraising efforts,” said Scott Jewell, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Cass County. “Homeownership through our organization is affordable because our houses are built in partnership with individuals and local businesses like Logansport Savings Bank who donate money and volunteer labor. This funding will go directly to the 2025 Logansport Community Build to benefit a local family. We have nearly reached our fundraising goal with this generous donation from Logansport Savings Bank, and we could not be more thankful.”
Partner families with Habitat for Humanity make a down payment and a monthly no or low- interest mortgage payment. They also invest hundreds of hours of their own labor – sweat equity – into building their house and the houses of others. A typical new house has 1150 square feet of finished living space, three bedrooms, 1 ½ baths, and a one-car garage. Habitat homeowners pay property taxes as any other landowner.
