Robbery investigation in Cass County results in three arrests

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at approximately 11:46 p.m., Cass County Central Dispatch received a call reporting an attempted armed robbery and vehicle theft. The incident allegedly occurred in the area of County Road 600 North and County Road 150 East. The male victim reported he was attacked by two men who shot at him and assaulted him with a baseball bat.

Responding deputies obtained further information, which led to the issuance of search warrants for two nearby residences. The victim’s statement and evidence located during the warrant service led to the following incarcerations:

Shane Denny, a 46-year-old male of rural Logansport, IN
Robbery, a Level 2 Felony
Battery resulting in serious bodily Injury, a Level 5 felony
Theft, a Level 6 felony

Maverick Walters, a 66-year-old male of rural Logansport, IN
Robbery, a Level 2 Felony
Battery resulting in serious bodily Injury, a Level 5 felony
Theft, a Level 6 felony
Possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony

Jeanna Garde, a 51-year-old female of rural Logansport, IN
Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony
Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeano

The victim, a 51-year-old male of Kokomo, IN, was transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. He was treated and later released from the hospital.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the case, which will be forwarded to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office after completion. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Sergeant O’Connor or Detective Turney at 574-753-7800.

The Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers, and Cass County Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
