Last Updated on November 5, 2025 by Cass County Communication Network
The Cass County Community Foundation (CCCF) is proud to announce the creation of a new unrestricted fund, the Becki Harris Community Fund, honoring the life, service, and enduring spirit of one of the Foundation’s most beloved colleagues and friends, Becki Harris.
Becki was an integral part of the Foundation team for many years, remembered not only for her sharp intellect and organizational skill, but for her humor, compassion, and boundless energy for helping others. She approached every task, whether proofreading a report, organizing a fundraiser, or mentoring a colleague with the same combination of excellence, wit, and heart.
“Becki was one of a kind: creative, feisty, and full of kindness,” said Deanna Crispen, President & CEO of the Cass County Community Foundation. “She had a gift for language, a love of learning, and a heart for giving. Her compassion reached far beyond her work as she supported the arts, cared for animals, and quietly helped countless people in need. The Becki Harris Community Fund will continue that legacy of generosity and goodness.”
In addition to her many talents, Becki was a longtime performer and supporter of the Logansport Civic Players, where she shared her remarkable voice and stage presence. Whether acting in community theater productions or recruiting fellow singers for CCCF’s Give Your Heart Valentine’s Serenades, Becki’s joy and creativity lit up every room and every stage she stepped onto. Her colleagues fondly recall her glass-shattering high notes, her quick wit, and her ability to turn even an ordinary day into something to smile about.
Becki was a tireless fundraiser, a talented vocalist, and a champion for education, earning her associate’s degree with honors later in life through hard work and perseverance. Her legacy is one of kindness, creativity, and community. The Becki Harris Community Fund will serve as an unrestricted resource, allowing CCCF to meet the ever-changing needs of Cass County and to invest in the causes Becki cared so deeply about: people, education, the arts, and compassion in action.
“Becki was, as one of Crispen’s granddaughters said, ‘like a unicorn in a field of horses,’ She was unique, genuine, and impossible to replicate. We wanted to create something lasting that reflects who she was and what she gave to all of us.
