💻 Hoosier students and families are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is now open for the 2021-2022 school year. Financial aid experts will be available during the virtual College Goal Sunday between 2-4 p.m. (ETD) on Sunday, October 25. To participate, visit collegegoalsunday.org.  Read more here.

💊 On Saturday, October 24, 2020 the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is sponsoring the 19th nationwide “Prescription Drug Take Back” initiative.  The “Take Back” initiative seeks to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal of prescription drugs. Read more here.

🗳 According to the Cass County Clerk’s Office, 44 ballots were returned by mail on Wednesday, Oct. 21 and 254 people voted in person at the Cass County Government Building. Early voting is available at the Cass County Government Building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Vote centers will open on Oct. 29 at various locations around the county. Find the full list of voting hours and locations through Nov. 3, as well as what’s on the ballot here.

😷 The Indiana Department of Health announced Thursday that 2,880 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. The numbers represent results from 36,552 specimens submitted, the highest number to date. To date, a total of 155,246 Indiana residents are known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard. A total of 3,831 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 42 from the previous day. Yesterday’s report included 12 new cases in Cass County. 🎨 The local mural committee who brought artist Anthony Brooks to the Transco Building on 18th Street is holding a contest inviting Cass County residents to help write the story of the characters pictured in the mural. More info here.
